Sustainable investments: where do we stand?
Philips Pensioenfonds invests the money from your pension premiums. We use the returns on those investments to pay you a proper pension. Last year, we asked you whether we should consider social aspects such as the environment and human rights when we invest your money, and if so to what extent. Many of you replied that you feel strongly about responsible investment. We can now give you an update: what have we done since our survey in 2020? Read on to find out more.

Survey: what are we doing right, what needs to improve?
Philips Pensioenfonds wants to know what you think of our services. What are we doing right, and what needs to improve? To find out, earlier this month we asked large numbers of our members who are not yet retired and retired members to take part in a survey. We will use the results to improve our communications and our services.

If you have received an invitation by email, but have not filled out the questionnaire yet, please do so. The survey closes on 9 May.
Results for Q1 of 2021: Policy funding ratio of 112.7%
  • The policy funding ratio at 31 March 2021 was 112.7%.
  • The actual funding ratio at 31 March 2021 was 123.0%.
  • The returns from 1 January to 31 March 2021 were -1.5%.
  • The pension fund’s assets at 31 March 2021 were € 22,497 million.

Recent developments

The funding ratio continued to improve during Q1 of 2021. That improvement is also reflected in the policy funding ratio, now that the ‘lean months’ at the start of 2020 are no longer dragging the policy funding ratio down. Rising interest rates contributed to the positive development of the current funding ratio, and while we recorded considerable losses on fixed-income securities, they were more than compensated by a drop in pension obligations. The investments in variable-yield securities also recorded strong returns.
