What will we be working on after the summer period? |
In the middle of this holiday period, I like to briefly look ahead to the second half of this year. The Future Pensions Act and the responsible investment of your pension money will again be high on the agenda in the second half of the year. We will also evaluate our indexation policy. Read more about these topics via the link below, and we will certainly deal with these subjects in our future newsletters. For now I wish you a nice summer period and a nice holiday. Results for Q2 of 2022: policy funding ratio 128.6% |
- The policy funding ratio at 30 June 2022 was 128.6%.
- The actual funding ratio at 30 June 2022 was 126.1%.
- The returns from 1 April to 30 June 2022 were -14.5%.
- The pension fund’s assets at 30 June 2022 were € 18,766 million.
Latest developments Interest rates rose sharply during Q2 of 2022, causing fixed-income securities to yield negative returns. As interest rates rose, investments in equities (shares) also became less desirable, and as a result variable-yield securities recorded negative returns too. Although the higher interest rates also meant that the pension liabilities dropped, this was not enough to offset the decrease in the assets under investment and as a result the actual funding ratio fell from 127.3% to 126.1% during Q2. The policy funding ratio, which reflects the average for the past 12 months, improved slightly during Q2, rising from 128.1% to 128.6%. |

The option lump sum, likely available on 1 July 2023 |
If your retirement is approaching, you will have the option of a lump sum: the possibility to receive up to 10% of the retirement pension that you have accrued in a single amount as soon as you retire. According to the latest information shared by the legislature, the target date for introducing this facility is 1 July 2023. If you are close to retiring and would like to find out what this would mean in your situation, or if you are thinking about pushing back your retirement until you can make use of this facility, contact our Service Desk to schedule a video call. |
