Preparing for the future pension plan
|
The Pensioen3daagse takes place next week. Every year, this national 3-day event is an opportunity for us to get in contact with our members and help them with their questions about their pension. The event turns the spotlight on pension matters at the national level too. Some of you are probably thinking, “But surely pensions are in the spotlight all the time lately?” That is true: every pension fund in the Netherlands needs to bring its pension plan into compliance with the Future of Pensions Act, and this is generating plenty of attention, including from the media. We are busy with this too, for example by preparing the resolutions that the Board needs to pass to carry out the new pension plan. Even with the switch to the new pension plan two years or so away, plenty of work is going on behind the scenes. Read on to find out more about what will happen during the period ahead.

"I want to reduce my working hours before I go into full retirement. What are my options?"
|
— A question that Nicole of our Service Desk is frequently asked —

One possibility is to retire on a part-time basis: before retiring full-time, you start working less and instead draw a partial pension. If you want, our Service Desk can calculate the numbers based on your specific preferences. Get in touch to find out more.
You can also ask your employer about the possibilities for reducing your working hours before you retire. The collective labour agreement includes arrangements for older workers who want to cut back on their hours in anticipation of their retirement, while still accruing their pension.
