Latest developments concerning your pension fund
Arrangements for your partner and children: now and in the future |
When people talk about their pension, generally they mean their income after they retire from working. However, your pension plan includes far more arrangements besides that income. For example, it also provides for an income supplement if you become disabled and incapable of working. In the event of your death, it also includes a survivor’s pension for your partner and an orphan’s pension for your children. So how will the survivor’s pension be given shape under the new pension plan? We have set up a page on our website devoted specifically to this topic, explaining precisely how the survivor’s pension will work and what will change compared with now.

The new pension plan: status update |
The process of deciding on the new pension plan recently took another step forward. During the first calendar quarter of this year, the Accountability Body issued a favourable opinion on the Board’s proposed resolutions for the new pension plan. In late-March the Board confirmed the resolutions, subject to two conditions. Visit our website to find out more, including what the resolutions mean for our members. |

“Why is it important for my pension to be increased, even if I haven’t retired yet?” |
— A question that Nicole of our Service Desk is frequently asked — |
“In late-March you received information that your accrued pension would be increased at 1 April 2025 by the full rate of our ambition. Most of the questions about this indexation come from our pension beneficiaries, which makes sense: indexation has an immediate impact on their finances. Still, it is also important for members who are not drawing their pension yet. Increasing your accrued pension before you retire helps it to retain its value in the long term.”
