“Key step forward in preparing for the new pension plan” |
— Roel Wijmenga and Rainier Mols of the Board of Trustees — |

|
Roel Wijmenga and Rainier Mols of the Board of Trustees look back on 2024; a year when we took a key step forward in preparing for the new pension plan. They discuss the principal issues that the Board addressed: preparing the resolutions about the new pension plan, the investment policy during the transition period, the indexation decision and how our members are being prepared little by little for their new pensions. “It was an interesting year, with plenty of challenging questions for the Board.” |

Decision about the future pension plan to be made in late-June |
We are set to finalise the ‘implementation plan’ before 1 July. An implementation plan contains a pension fund’s description of how it will carry out its new pension plan. It also describes how the accrued pensions will be converted to the new pension plan, and how this will be communicated. It will be reviewed by the supervisory authorities: the Dutch central bank (DNB) and the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). The implementation plan will be published on our website in July. In September, you will also receive a special issue of our magazine Generaties, with detailed information about the new pension plan that we will switch to on 1 January 2027. |

-
Philips Pensioenfonds wants to provide a proper pension at the lowest possible cost?
-
in 2024, the pension administration costs were €149 per member? In 2023, those costs were €137 per member.
-
part of the reason for this increase is that we incurred extra costs to prepare for the new pension plan?
-
the asset management costs for 2024 were slightly less than for 2023 (down from 0.32% to 0.31% of the average invested assets)?
-
despite the higher pension administration costs, Philips Pensioenfonds still has relatively low costs overall?
-
you can read all about the Pension Fund’s various costs in section 2.8 of the annual report?
