Another big step towards the NexT Pension scheme |
On 1 January 2027, if everything goes to plan, we will switch to the NexT Pension scheme. For years, we have been working behind the scenes to prepare for this. All this time, one key principle has remained the same: to handle your pension’s transition to the new pension scheme with the greatest care. That includes scrutinizing our plans in detail. So in early-July we were very pleased with the news we received from the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) as our supervisory authority: it expressed a positive opinion on our board resolutions dealing with the switch. Now we can move on to the next stage.
This does not mean that everything is ready, but it does mark a big step forward, making this an excellent moment to talk to Roel Wijmenga, former chair of the Board of Trustees, and his successor Wim Henk Steenpoorte. On our website, they explain what this milestone means and what further steps we will take during the months ahead. |

Help us improve the information about the NexT Pension scheme |
Many of our members will soon receive an invitation to take part in a survey about the NexT Pension scheme. If you are one of those members, we would appreciate it if you answer the survey. How much do you know about the new pension scheme? Is the information clear? What questions do you still have? Your feedback will help us to improve our communications and align it with what you want to know. |

How is Philips Pensioenfonds doing? |

Coming in November:
provisional calculation of your NexT Pension |
This November, we will send you a pension overview showing a provisional calculation of what your personal pension values will be under the NexT Pension scheme. That provisional overview will be based on the data as they were recorded in our systems on 30 June 2026.
In January 2027 your gross pension will be the same as it was in December 2026: we will not have finished converting the pensions based on the funding ratio at 31 December 2026. By February 2027 this will be done, though, and that month you will receive your new pension amount, plus the increase that you would have had in January. From March 2027 onward you will receive the new pension amount every month. |

“What are the arrangements for the survivor’s pension of a pension beneficiary’s partner?" |
— Frequently Asked Question for Nicole from our Service Desk — |
“If you are drawing a retirement pension, your partner will generally receive a survivor’s pension in the event of your death. The switch to the new pension scheme will not change the relative rates of the retirement pension and the survivor’s pension, even if the survivor’s pension is not set at the standard 70%. When we make the switch, the buffer will be shared among our members. If your pension goes up as a result, the survivor’s pension will go up proportionately so that the relative rates of the pensions remain the same." |
